  • Creative thinking large

Creativity is something that many look beyond and don't even think of as something of importance in the world of an adult, or in the nature of the success you build for yourself. Creativity is one of the greatest qualities any of us can be blessed with, yet many of us never allow their true creativity to be expressed, this is normally because to be creative you need to lose the fear of being wrong.

Normally when you think of a creative you think of someone that can paint a pretty picture or a student armed with an acoustic guitar (dreadlocks n' all) taking a gap year to "find themselves"

It's just not the case, being a creative is purely about thinking differently. Not thinking outside the box but thinking like the box doesn't exist at all, it's about seeing a problem and solving it in probably not the most logical way to start off with, but the ultimate goal is to create a genuine game changer with longevity; whether it's in a sale or a major change to what you do. It's how well you can think for yourself and actually use your creativity, that's what separates you from everyone else.

"Think left and think right and think low and think high.

Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try" – Dr. Seuss

This could just seem like a bunch of fluff with no actual meaning to some of you … that's fine but this way of thinking is something I'm passionate about and I have seen it work for many people. When you hit the nail on the head that one time you have a niche and something totally unique that will always work for you.

Most creatives' are just curious people who like to solve problems.

Left vs right thinking

They Practice seeing things differently. When seeing the solution to a problem, they ask, "What are some different ways to doing this?" and challenge the normality or existing methods.

"If you want to be more creative pick a problem you care about and get to work.  If you don't care about anything, your problem isn't creativity, its apathy."- Anon

I'm not saying that you necessarily need to go wild with this as critical thinking has a huge effect on everyday life. It's analytic, verbal and mathematical - the main skills everyone needs to survive, let alone anything else! But short bursts of creativity can be extremely beneficial.

So this is just a little heads up next time you think about taking the obvious route.... think about importing a little creativity and make something special!
